New Golden Cirrus™ a “Home Run” at Medtrade

The Golden team at Medtrade in Las Vegas knew they had a winner introducing Golden’s newest lift chair innovation, the Golden Cirrus™ PR508 lift chair. The Cirrus is the newest model in Golden’s patented MaxiComfort® Ultimate Recline Technology line of lift chairs.

“The new Cirrus was clearly a home run for us… our Research and Design team spent months on the chair’s design and features and they nailed it. Every dealer I demonstrated this new lift chair to, who sat in it and experienced our unique reflective pocket coil springs and plush back and armrest design, ordered one,” says Patricia O’Brien, Golden’s Director of Marketing.

The Golden Cirrus PR508 is the first Golden lift chair to feature pocket coil spring technology. Each spring seat pack features 49 pocketed springs wrapped in a total of 4” of combined seat foam (4” on the Medium size; the Large size chair features 5” of combined seat foam). The combination of foam and pocket coil springs sits on Golden’s proven heavy gauge steel spring seat platform.

“This seat design provides what we are calling “reflective support,” which means the seat moves with the person to always give them support and always provide contact with their lower body when they shift from side to side or lean while they are sitting,” says Richard Golden, CEO.

Another unique design element for the Cirrus is the armrest design. The kiln-dried northern maple hardwood armrests are covered with a combination of 5” of foam and Dacron to make it softer and more supportive than other models.

“What this chair is all about to our providers is offering them the highest quality, most profitable retail lift chair product on the market,” says O’Brien, who has presented retail cash seminars during the past several Medtrade shows. “Our research has shown it typically takes 30 minutes to sell a lift chair to a client. “Dealers loved the compact, cash retail LiteRider PTC when we launched it last year, but they wanted a base that disassembled so it would be easier to transport. At Golden, we listen to our customers. We went back to the drawing board with their feedback and redesigned the base so the frame disassembles easily from the transaxle,” says Richard Golden, CEO.

By separating the base, the heaviest piece is now only 35 pounds instead of the original 67 pounds, making it much easier for consumers to load into a vehicle.

Safety Alert Issued for Golden Lift Chairs with Therasage Far Infrared Heat Option

September 21, 2012 – Old Forge, PA. Golden Technologies has announced a voluntary Safety Alert for Golden Technologies lift chairs manufactured with the Far Infrared Heat pad system manufactured by the Therasage Corporation.

“It has come to our attention that if one or more of the heating wires inside a mounted Therasage Infrared Heating pad are not assembled securely it could cause overheating and a possible fire inside ONLY the Therasage Infrared heating pad,” announced CEO Richard Golden in a corporate statement to Golden dealers.

It is important that all consumers who have purchased a Golden lift chair with a Therasage Infrared heating system to immediately unplug the Therasage heat system and to stop using it. The Golden lift chair is still safe to use.

Golden lift chair models subject to this Safety Alert are:

• PR120 Series
• PR501 Series
• PR505 Series
• PR606
• PR607
• PR756

We are issuing this voluntary Safety Alert on 803 Golden chairs with this heat pad system. They were manufactured between March 2009 and September 2012. The serial numbers for the affected models start with GT0903 through GT1209. The serial number for your chair can be found on the back of the hand control or on a label on the metal bar under the back fabric cover of your chair.

This voluntary Safety Alert does not apply to the heat and massage system also available as an accessory on Golden lift chairs. If a consumer’s lift chair also has a vibrating massage option with the heating element, it is not a Therasage Far Infrared heat system. A consumer with any concerns or questions regarding the Safety Alert should contact their authorized Golden dealer. Old Forge, Pa September 22, 2011- Golden Technologies announces the debut of their new line of fabrics for fall 2011. There will be completely new fabric colors and patterns for their Traditional and Value series of lift chairs.

New fabric names for Traditional Series:

“The biggest improvement comes to the Value Series. Previously, the Value Series fabrics were not SofTouch with Stain Defense fabrics. Now our customers will be able to purchase Value Series chairs with an incredibly soft fabric.” said Director of Marketing, Pat O’ Brien. SofTouch with Stain Defense fabrics contain special moisture and a stain barrier to make it appear newer longer.

The Traditional Series already had SofTouch with Stain Defense fabrics. This will not change except for the island floral pattern. “In the case of the Traditional Series, it was time to make a change. We’ve had the Renegade pattern in the Traditional Series for several years. It was time to give our customers something new.” O’ Brien states. The old series of fabrics had a small diamond pattern. The new fabrics have a shorter nap and are flecked with black, but don’t have a distinct pattern.

All new fabrics will premier at Medtrade October 25th, 2011 in Atlanta, Ga. Golden Technologies will still build chairs in the current fabrics and will phase in the new changes starting in September with manufacturing stop dates of individual chairs until all warehouse inventories is depleted.
